Ant Control Services

Don’t let ants take over your home. As your trusted ant exterminator in the Portland metro area, Prime Pest Solutions provides effective ant control with treatments designed to eliminate colonies at the source.

Our experienced technicians identify the ant species, locate nesting sites, and apply targeted treatments that stop infestations for good.

Why Professional Ant Control Matters

Anyone who lives in Oregon knows how intense ant activity can be year-round. Once ants find a way inside, the colony is quick to invade and spread. Their persistence makes for quite the uphill battle when DIY methods fall short.

It’s like the classic game of whack-a-mole: no matter how hard you try, those pesky ants keep returning. Spraying ants you see only kills the foragers while the colony continues to grow. That’s why professional ant control focuses on eliminating the entire colony, not just visible ants.

Our treatments target the source of the problem. We use a combination of baiting systems, perimeter treatments, and targeted applications that workers carry back to the nest, eliminating the queen and stopping reproduction.

How Ant Baiting Works

Ant baiting is one of the most effective methods for controlling ant infestations. Unlike sprays that only kill ants on contact, baits work by attracting ants with food-based lures that contain slow-acting insecticides.

When foraging ants discover the bait, they carry it back to the colony to share with other workers, larvae, and most importantly, the queen. This process eliminates the colony from within, stopping reproduction at the source.

Why Baits Succeed Where Sprays Fail

Ants are incredibly smart creatures. When you spray and kill visible ants, the colony senses danger and often splits into multiple satellite colonies, making the problem worse. Baits work differently by not triggering this defense response, allowing the product to reach the entire colony.

Integrated Pest Management

The Prime Pest Solutions team incorporates Integrated Pest Management (IPM) into every service, giving you a well-rounded pest treatment.

IPM strategies combine multiple approaches for the most effective results:

  • Identifying the ant species and their preferences
  • Using appropriate bait formulations for each species
  • Creating physical barriers and sealing entry points
  • Addressing moisture issues that attract ants
  • Ongoing monitoring and prevention

This approach ensures every angle of your home is covered while adhering to eco-friendly pest control techniques.

What Our Customers Are Saying

Prepare for Your Inspection

If ants are currently trailing into your home, it’s time to schedule an inspection. During your free inspection, our technician will survey your home in search of the ant colony’s location and entry points.

What Does the Inspection Involve?

Ants can nest both indoors and outdoors, and even when nests are outside, they’ll travel into buildings for food and water. Finding entrance points helps prevent further infestation.

Your inspector will review entry points and suggest sealing them to keep ants out. If ants have established a colony inside your home, they’ll provide options for eradicating it.

Where We Inspect Outdoors

Ants are opportunistic and will nest almost anywhere. We check firewood piles, yard debris, utility boxes, dirt mounds, and areas under siding. We’ll report our findings and recommend the best treatment approach.

Get Rid of Ants for Good
